The Neighborhood.
Harbor Square is just a few steps away from the highly anticipated Moakley Park expansion project. Existing Moakley Park is known in the South Boston community as one of Boston’s largest waterfront areas with 60 acres of free space. The existing stadium, open land and beach front will get a complete revamp and brought alive to fit the 21st century. The project is being done with longevity in mind, addressing city climate issues such as stormwater management, urban heat island effect, and coastal flooding. The design will protect the surrounding community from anticipated sea level rise for the next 50-60 years. It will also mitigate storm surge and improve biodiversity with the addition of 500 new trees, native plants, and refurbished coastal dunes. These improvements, along with a green infrastructure incorporated across the site, ensures Boston does its part in protecting its natural resources for years to come.
Location is Everything.
